  1. well i thought this was going to be just like the summer school class i had to take to get into high school... no one would really talk to each other, i might make like one friend, but it was not like this at all. i absolutely loved the bridge program. it helped a lot. i loved how our class all became friends. we all moved together as a pack for lunch and even after school we hung out a little bit before we took our sources of transportation. i also enjoyed the lectures and i am enjoying this artistic representation a lot to. but i worked hard and my hard work really payed off. it was a lot of fun.

    BB4L :)

  2. I kind of thought bridge would be like this but it's also more than I expected. I loved the classes and it really helped me prepare after being off for almost 2 years. It helped me get back into the swing of things and, gave me a good work ethic. It gave me a feel of what the classroom is like and showed me what to and what not to do. I loved meeting all the people and I love that all the staff and people are friendly. I'm going to take the information that I learned like giving more detail in my papers and use that to help me in my future classes. I hated math but through bridge it showed me that its really not that bad. I love our class and my favorite memories are how we all bonded. How we go to lunch and how we always have so much fun and are always laughing. I really did like the program there were moments where I was super nervous and scared but it made me realize to focus and that this is a great opportunity.

  3. Wow it has been 24 days huh? Can you believe we survived Survivor(The Bridge Edition). I'm glad we all made it. Bridge was fun for me. I think we got the best class. Overall I'm proud of myself for going through with the program. It helped improve some of my writing and math skills. So I think I have a good understanding of what is expected of me this fall. My favorite moment from bridge would have to be the ignorant joke.

  4. I can believe you all made it! It's been wonderful getting to know all of you and hearing about your goals, life stories, and opinions. Each of you have approached this experience with great enthusiasm and I hope you do the same in future classes at Columbia. Some of my favorite experiences have been watching you interact with each other, in and out of class. College is as much a collaboration with faculty and classmates as it is an individual accomplishment - be sure to stay in touch and feel free to send me an email, or stop by my office to let me know how things are going. And if you see me in the hallway or on campus...you better say HI!

  6. I honestly cannot believe up until now that this is our last day of blogging *waaaahhh* (snookie's voice)
When i first started here at Bridge, I was a nervous wreck. I didn't know what to expect or how to act towards my professors. Now it is the second to last day of the program, and i am ready. Having to write eight 1 page paper and one 5 paper on how we view life and our thoughts overall has helped me prepare for this fall semester.

I have so many memories, where do i begin!?
From the moments we all started talking to each other we became so close! We ate together on our lunch break every time! We had so many laughter together, so many inside jokes, the codes? Haha oh mike! CODE 12! Miguel's random "raps" and his random dancing haha. To Britney's clumsy self tripping over everything. Wow. I loved everything!
Our group discussions after every lecture were always fun. We would talk about the subject and somehow relate it to something else and made the conversation much more interesting.
Overall, we will always be BB4L! <3
Including Molly and Ryan! You guys are the best! (:

  8. We finally did it!!

The first day of bridge I had this image in my mind that it was going to be boring and long and just horrible. Some of the students from other classes were so loud and it was like 8:30 in the morning and then my math class was so quiet and then I got to english class and it was a bit different.
After the first week it changed my image for bridge I thought this can be fun for the next three weeks. The work was a bit challenging with different math worksheets everyday and one page essays about a person experience and relationship with the book. Bridge has been a good preparation for me, because little by little I had some improvement on my essays, and when I studied at night for math I did better than an average score on quizzes, its a good start for the fall!
There are so many memories I will cherish after this program. Everyone has been awesome!

Well this is it guys we did it!Thanks for everything and this is not a goodbye its a
    SEE YOU LATER :]

  12. Honestly, I don't remember how I felt about bridge. I guess anxious with a hint of horror. I was going back to a school setting after 2 years, so I guess I can say I was feeling a bit vulnerable as well. So with that said, I'm extremely thankful to the school for offering this excellent program. I needed something to get back on my grind. Ya know? Oh! I want to thank myself as well. Hahaha. Thank myself because I took advantage of this precious opportunity and not just let it pass me by :) Lastly, every little min that passed by has been my favorite memory. Meeting outstanding people as well as very articulate and nutty professors. All of you rock!

  13. Bridge has been difficult.

At least, I think it has. I say this as an instructor who's gone through this past month without the same kinds of pressure to succeed that's laid on you, and without the weight of having taken a risk as many of you have.

It's been difficult for me because I've been challenged to think about my ethics as an instructor, about what I value in education, and about what part I can and do play in the College, and in our system of education as a whole. It's a trying thing to think about, and makes one's goals seem a little bit fuzzier. But nevertheless I'm glad to have had the experience.

My favorite memory of the past few weeks is a funny one: One Tuesday, I told the class to meet in the lobby of 33 at 1:50 for our walk up the block to the Art Institute. By 1:49, no one had shown up--there hadn't been a single student trickling in through the revolving glass doors. Other teachers were asking me about the hold up.

I was getting nervous--had I told you the wrong location? Was everyone already on their way to the Art Institute? Were people going to get in trouble for this? I was starting to pace.

Then, as the face of my cell phone blinked 1:50, the entire class strolled casually through the doors, sipping leftover pop from lunch and laughing.

Of course, I thought. They ate lunch together.

    They always do.

  15. @ Jodeci: Omg the "ignorant" inside joke! Hahaha. How could i forget that. I remember when Mike got so offended. & when they said it in a lecture we were the only class that started to laugh when they said that word & we the the look from everyone else like, "what the hell?"

@ Britney: Making the bones was one of my favorite parts too. Even though my bones looked so flat and unhealthy :( haha.
